Signing a Power of Attorney for use in Spain
A client in Cardiff area contacted me requesting to assist in notarising a Power of Attorney authorising an agent in Spain to act on his behalf in obtaining the Foreigner´s Identity number (N.I.E.). The Power of Attorney also required to be legalised by an Apostille. As an additional service, the client also requested to certify a copy of his passport and obtain an apostille to verify Notary's signature.
I liaised with the client's agent directly to obtain specific instructions on the execution and authentication of the Power of Attorney by a Notary, and certification of his passport copy. When the documents were finalised, the client attended my Notary Public office in Penarth (near Cardiff), I verified his ID, he signed the Power of Attorney, I witnessed his signature, put my stamp and seal. The notarised Power of Attorney for Spain and a copy of the certified passport were posted for fast legalisation by apostille in London and shipped by courier directly to the client's agent's office in Spain in 3 days. The agent could act on the client's behalf under the notarised and legalised Power of Attorney and obtained a Spanish NIE number for him.

Swearing an Affidavit of Marital Status
A client from Swansea had an urgent request to swear an Affidavit of marital status to confirm that he is single. The Affidavit had to be sworn before a Notary Public who had to witness the client signing the document and authenticating it with a Notary's signature, stamp and seal. Having carried out the background checks, I contacted the client to make an appointment in my Notary's office near Cardiff (Penarth). I could see him the following day.
